In the ever-evolving landscape of gaming and entertainment, there are moments that leave an indelible mark on the industry. The GTA 6 trailer is one of those moments.

With roughly 16 hours until the official premiere, someone had leaked the entire trailer, leading Rockstar to put the premiere live early so everyone could see it officially.

Despite this unexpected turn of events, it didn’t appear to halt the trailer’s success regarding views and likes.

GTA 6 Trailer 1 has shattered YouTube records, including MrBeast’s for the most-watched non-music video in 24 hours and Rockstar’s most-viewed video ever.

Most Watched Non-Music Video in 24 Hours

The GTA 6 reveal trailer has broken the record for the most viewed non-music video in 24 hours.

It achieved the same views as the previous record (46 million) in just 8 hours.

After 24 hours, the trailer had over 90 million views and 8.6 million likes, almost doubling the previous views record.

This record was previously held by MrBeast, the world’s largest YouTuber with over 236M subscribers, who hit 46 million views within 24 hours on the video ‘7 Days Stranded At Sea’ posted on August 5, 2023.

The most viewed video ever within 24 hours is BTS’s music video ‘Butter,’ which amassed over 108 million views in just one day.

‘Butter’ also holds several other records, including the fastest video to 10 million, 50 million, and 100 million views. However, GTA 6 has comfortably broken these records for non-music videos.

Rockstar sits third place for the most viewed video entirely in 24 hours, behind ‘Dynamite‘ by BTS, which reached 101.1 million views.

However, Rockstar would have a lot more views if you combined the views from the trailer being re-uploaded. For example, GameSpot’s reupload of the trailer had 17 million views in 1 day.

Surpasses 100M Views to Become Rockstar’s Most Viewed Video

While everyone knew it would happen eventually, not everyone expected it so soon.

‘Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 1′ is now Rockstar Games’ most viewed video ever, with a staggering 170+ million views. The studio’s second most viewed video is the first GTA V trailer, which had 108 million views after 12 years.

The GTA 6 trailer got more views in just 24 hours than the GTA V trailer got after an entire decade (roughly 76 million views).

The trailer also received more likes in 1 hour than the GTA V one in its lifetime (2.2 million).

Coincidentally, both trailers hit 100 million views on the exact same day!
