Fans can rest easy knowing that GTA 6 won’t be delayed, as Rockstar Games is happy with the game’s new release window.

The Take-Two Interactive earnings call turned out to be an interesting one, at least for GTA 6 fans. Though the publisher had little to say about Grand Theft Auto 6, it did reveal some extremely interesting details about the upcoming title.

First off, we got confirmation that GTA 6 will release in Fall 2025, which appears to place its release date somewhere between September and November 2025.

And while this wasn’t an official delay from its already confirmed 2025 release date, it does seem that Rockstar initially wanted an early 2025 launch, as fans predicted.

Will GTA 6 Escape the Rockstar Delay Curse?

But it seems that GTA fans don’t need to be worried about the game receiving an actual delay.

In fact, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick claims to feel good about announcing the Fall 2025 release date:

“We feel really good about that release date,” Zelnick confirms, during the Q&A portion of the investor earnings call.

This is certainly a relief to hear, especially given Rockstar Games’ long history of delays.

Most recently, Red Dead Redemption 2 was delayed twice, from its initial Fall 2017 release date to Spring 2018, and eventually to October 2018.

GTA 5 also saw significant delays, though only from Spring 2013 to September 2013. Even the PS5 and Xbox Series X version of the game didn’t launch on schedule, again requiring an extra four months of development time.

Things Might Change Later Down the Line

But does Strauss Zelnick’s confidence actually mean that GTA 6 is on track for Fall 2025?

The CEO of Rockstar’s parent company certainly isn’t about to come out and say he doesn’t feel good about the release window, especially with Take-Two stock prices already dropping after the announcement.

Personally, we think the fact that this isn’t an official delay may help ensure that no further release date pushbacks are necessary.

After all, assuming that GTA 6 was internally expected to launch in early 2025, as the earnings report suggests, it now has several more months of development time without the need to announce an actual delay.

We’ll have to wait to find out exactly when GTA 6 will launch, however. Zelnick promises more information will be released in ‘the fullness of time.’

And that sounds like quite a long time to us.
