GTA fans just got even further clarification regarding the new GTA 6 release date, and it comes directly from Take-Two Interactive’s CEO!

It’s certainly been an exciting week for Grand Theft Auto news.

Not only did we get our first Take-Two investor earnings call since GTA 6’s Trailer 1 went live, but the publisher actually had something new to reveal during its recent investor showcase.

For those who missed the news, GTA 6 will release between September and November 2025.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick officially confirmed the upcoming title’s Fall 2025 release date, and although it’s still a while away, it’s exciting to finally have a release window.

Take-Two Doubles Down on GTA 6 Release Date

During a new interview with Take-Two Interactive’s CEO on CNBC, Strauss Zelnick confirmed that he feels very confident in Rockstar Games to deliver GTA 6 in Fall 2025.

When asked how certain he is that the developer will hit the newly confirmed release window, Zelnick admitted that there is a degree of slippage in the industry.

However, the Take-Two CEO went on to state that they’re ‘highly confident’ in achieving a Fall 2025 release as scheduled.

This matches up with Zelnick’s previous statement that Take-Two feels ‘really good’ about the new release date, and it’s a great show of confidence in the game’s development team.

It’s Debugging Time Over at Rockstar

Regarding the timing of GTA 6’s release, Strauss Zelnick suggested that one element that determines a title’s release date is the number of bugs still present in the game.

Right now, it appears that Rockstar is in the process of eliminating as many bugs as possible before release day rolls around.

“In the case of an extraordinary title for which there are extraordinary expectations, it’s not really about bugs,” Zelnick stated. “It’s about creating an experience that no one has seen before.”

Red Dead Redemption 2 Bar

The CEO followed up by praising the team behind the Grand Theft Auto series.

“Rockstar Games seeks perfection in what they do.”

That’s certainly always been our experience, and a popular consensus among the fans too. While GTA Online gets its fair share of criticism, Rockstar is still seen as one of the most talented developers in the industry.

The team’s most recent major release, Red Dead Redemption 2, is still known to many as possibly the greatest open-world game of all time. And, of course, GTA 5 is still alive and kicking over a decade after its release two console generations ago.

For now, we’ll have to wait and see what the developer can do with another year and a half of development. But it looks as though we’ll be waiting a long time for GTA 6 Trailer 2 to arrive.
