It’ll be a long wait for GTA 6 Trailer 2, but we do know what the new footage will most likely show us, based on Rockstar Games’ marketing style.

A new Grand Theft Auto only comes around once a decade these days, which is why it’s so exciting when it’s finally time for a new one to release!

Our first look at GTA 6 came in Trailer 1, the long-awaited first look at the state of Leonida and the revamped Vice City. We got a brief introduction to one of our main characters, Lucia, and some shots of the beautiful environment and its wild inhabitants.

But what will GTA 6 Trailer 2 show us? We’ve done some digging and come up with some things that viewers should expect to see.

What Will the Second Trailer Show?

After comparing the Trailer 2 content for Rockstar’s past projects, we’ve found that the second showcase of an upcoming title often contains the following aspects:

A Proper Introduction to the Main Character(s)

One thing that Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA 5, and GTA 4 Trailer 2 all have in common is that they focus a lot more on introducing the main character.

In the case of GTA 5, all three protagonists are explored, despite Trailer 1 only focusing briefly on Michael. In RDR2, Arthur Morgan is only really officially revealed in the second trailer.

As such, we should expect to see more from GTA 6’s Lucia in Trailer 2, alongside an introduction of her male partner who was also seen in Trailer 1.

Given that the game appears to have two protagonists, much like GTA 5 had three, we’re certain that the male that appears in the game’s key art will get a proper welcome.

Teases of Story Content

Another thing we noticed is that Rockstar Games tends to have Trailer 1 simply introduce the world that acts as its new game’s setting.

In Trailer 2, we get a better idea of the sort of direction the story will be heading in. So far, we know little about the story of GTA 6, other than that it features Lucia getting out of prison and seemingly returning to a life of crime.

In the case of previous protagonists, such as GTA 5’s Michael, being pulled back into their old ways is usually due to unexpected developments in the plot. Therefore, we could get a hint at why Lucia feels the need to rob the store at the end of Trailer 1.

A second trailer often also showcases iconic moments from the upcoming title’s story missions, such as the train heist in Red Dead Redemption 2, or the trio of main characters meeting for the first time in GTA 5.

We can’t wait to see how far GTA 6 is able to take things, as its scripted story missions will be the first to draw on the power of the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

A More In-Depth Look at the World

Although all Rockstar Games titles seem to use Trailer 1 to show off the world in which the game will take place, they never go too in-depth.

In Trailer 2, we start to see a lot more of what the environments we’ll be playing in have to offer, as well as the inhabitants that live there.

GTA 6 Green Truck Riding Citizen

Although GTA 6 showed more of the Leonida populace than past trailers would usually do, most of the NPC footage in Trailer 1 was specifically scripted. It’s likely we’ll see some general Vice City citizens going about their business in the open world next time around.

Side characters such as GTA 5’s Lamar or Red Dead Redemption 2’s Dutch are also introduced in these trailers, which means we could see some of GTA 6’s cast beginning to get revealed.

For those who just can’t wait, the good news is that we already have a few ideas as to when GTA 6 Trailer 2 will release.

A Look at Past Trailer 2 Content

GTA 5

In Grand Theft Auto 5’s first trailer, Rockstar Games showed off the world of Los Santos, with narration from Michael, one of the game’s protagonists.

We didn’t see Franklin or Trevor, nor did the trailer hint that two more protagonists were on the way, until Trailer 2.

In GTA 5’s second trailer, all three main characters were introduced, showing off their unique characteristics and hinting at their storylines. In addition, we saw snippets of story content, including chaotic missions, and revealing the first time all three protagonists officially met one another.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 followed a similar pattern to GTA 5, and as Rockstar Games’ most recent title, it shows that its marketing is still unchanged.

In Trailer 1, the game showed off the incredibly-detailed world and its inhabitants. Despite some voice-over by protagonist Arthur Morgan, we don’t get a good look at our main character during the reveal.

Trailer 2 acts as a showcase of Morgan, who takes the reigns as the series’ protagonist. Not only do we get a full reveal of his appearance, but the trailer also reveals a lot about his character while showing off cinematic moments from the game’s story.

GTA 4

Finally, GTA 4’s premiere trailer opens with shots of Liberty City. We get a quick look at protagonist Niko Bellic, who explains his brief history to the listening audience.

It’s only in Trailer 2 that we begin to get an early look at the game’s story, alongside an extended introduction to Bellic.

It seems that even 16 years ago, Rockstar Games was beginning to lock down its marketing style for the foreseeable future.

Only time will tell if the company continues the trend with GTA 6. But one thing’s for sure – it’s certainly following a similar pattern so far!
