Although the cast of GTA 6 is currently hiding from the spotlight, one celebrity has openly confirmed their involvement with the game.

Grand Theft Auto 6 looks to be Rockstar Games’ most ambitious project of all time, but the developer is keeping all of its cards close to the chest for now.

Fans are doing their best to uncover any details they can from the title’s limited marketing, with little success.

Meanwhile, one celebrity had no qualms about admitting that they’re in GTA 6 – and Rockstar may not be happy with them for doing so.

T-Pain Will Appear in GTA 6

Singer-songwriter and occasional Twitch streamer Faheem Rashad Najm, better known as T-Pain, has confirmed that he is working with Rockstar Games on GTA 6.

T-Pain in GTA 6

This announcement was made on the artist’s livestream in January 2024, when he explained why he could no longer stream GTA 5 roleplay content.

“I used to be on NoPixel,” T-Pain admitted to his audience. “Then I started working on the f*cking, on GTA 6 and they told me I couldn’t do RP anymore…”

For those unaware, NoPixel is one of the larger roleplay servers for Grand Theft Auto 5.

These roleplaying servers have seen an explosion in popularity in recent years, which led to Rockstar acquiring Cfx.re, the team behind two of the largest active servers: FiveM and RedM.

The irony of which, it seems, is not lost upon T-Pain:

“I started working on the game with them and then they teamed up with the people that kind of like make the RP shit.”

It’s not clear exactly why T-Pain is no longer allowed to roleplay in GTA 5, but it could suggest that his role in GTA 6 is bigger than just being a featured artist.

After all, we imagine the voice actors for Lucia and Jason, our new protagonists, would be similarly restricted from NoPixel.

T-Pain’s Role in GTA 6

When explaining why he’s no longer allowed to participate on NoPixel, T-Pain tried to convey Rockstar’s thoughts on the situation.

Unfortunately, the explanation is more than a little confusing:

“They had this whole speech, like, ‘What if somebody took your album and re-recorded it, and more people were listening to that?'”

Ultimately, it sounds as though the developer wants to focus T-Pain’s efforts on the upcoming game.

Lucia and Jason Robbing a Store

However, it’s very possible that Rockstar doesn’t want the artist to roleplay because he’s already cast as a character in the GTA 6 story. Even more likely is that the artist, who was born and raised in Florida, might appear as a DJ on his own in-game radio station.

In either case, it would make sense for the company to be concerned that their character’s persona could blend into T-Pain’s GTA 5 roleplaying.

Rockstar Games is known for being extremely strict with its NDAs. Therefore, it’s also possible that the developer just doesn’t want to risk T-Pain dropping any details whatsoever about its upcoming title, whether he’s simply providing music, or playing a larger role.

We imagine that the team behind GTA 6 wasn’t too pleased with the celebrity openly admitting to being in the game either!

Rockstar Games is yet to confirm T-Pain’s inclusion in GTA 6, so we’d take this all with a pinch of salt for now.
