The Whooping Crane is a bird that can be found in GTA 6.
Alongside the more common Sandhill Crane, it is one of only two cranes that can be spotted in North America.
Whooping Cranes are an endangered species due to unregulated hunting and a loss of habitat, but after conservation efforts were implemented, their population in Florida (the inspiration for Leonida) has begun to recover.
Whooping Cranes are the tallest of North America's birds, standing up to 5 ft 3 inches in height, with a wingspan of around 7 feet. They make their nests on the ground, typically on raised areas in a marsh.
These birds will commonly be found in Leonida's Everglades, and can be seen residing there in Trailer 1. The Whooping Cranes in the trailer are still young, as their head and necks are still orange.
As they age, their plumage will turn white, and the crown of their head will reach a distinctive red coloring.
