American Flamingo

The American Flamingo is a large bird that can be found throughout the State of Leonida.

This Flamingo is a cultural icon for the state of Florida, on which Leonida is based. The bird used to be particularly abundant to the south, where it found its home in shallow-water environments such as Gator Keys and the Everglades.

In the early 1900s, however, American Flamingos were nearly driven to extinction in Florida, thanks to their fashionable (and valuable) pink plumage.

In recent years, the birds have begun to return to the area, with a few small resident populations once again present in the state.

The American Flamingo was first revealed to appear in GTA 6 in Trailer 1, where large flocks of the birds can be spotted throughout Leonida.

It appears the Everlglades is home to the Flamingo Wildlife Institute HQ with Flamingo Beach. Therefore, this is where we expect they will mostly reside in the game.
