American Eels are often found on the eastern coast of North America, often living in freshwater environments.They are commonly found in streams, rivers, and lakes.
However, they travel to the ocean to spawn their eggs far offshore.
Ells are bottom dwellers, often found hiding from predators in burrows, tubes, and plants. During the winter, they burrow under the mud and enter a state of complete inactivity.
